Seiko s history with dive

Seiko history

The original design has been replicated asfaithfully as possible, with the crown at the 4o’clock position, symbolizing the convenience ofthe self-winding mechanism.

Bezel-free construction

The crystal is fixed directly to the case in this bezelfree construction, so that the dial opening is as wide as possible and the time as legible as possible.

Exterior design

The extended case sides are also zaratsu-polished, to create distortion free surfaces

Crown

Placed at the 4 o’clock position, the crown is recessed into the case, to dramatize the fact that there is no need for the watch to be wound by hand. However, in today’s revival design, a hand winding mechanism has been added.

A perfect fusion of case and bracelet

The lugs are cut almost flush to the edge of the crystal and the case is finished using Grand Seiko’s unique zaratsu polishing technique for a mirror-like, distortion-free finish with high contrast.

Case back

The case back emblem and function indicator layout designs are faithfully replicated using raised relief stamping.

Case size

The case was enlarged slightly from the original for ease of use in line with modern proportions.
