With a wide range of timepieces, the Brand offers ladies watches and watches for men in a variety of styles and materials: stainless steel, yellow gold, rose gold, titanium and diamonds. Each collection has a personality of its own. Freelancer, with its automatic chronograph watches and sporty style is a free spirit. Maestro offers timeless and traditional timepieces. Elegant and refined, Jasmine is the representation of femininity with its rose gold and diamond ladies watches. All our quartz watches and automatic watches bear the famous and much sought-after Swiss made label.
Music is a family passion. It is transmitted from generation to generation and influences and inspires the way RAYMOND WEIL communicates. This infatuation with music has always been reflected in watch collection names (Amadeus, Othello, Traviata, Tango, Parsifal and Nabucco to name a few) and is a distinguishing feature of the Swiss watchmaker’s identity. “Our watchmaking Company has been involved with music, ever since its foundation”, confides Elie Bernheim, CEO of RAYMOND WEIL Genève. Its commitment with the music industry grew through the building of strong partnerships with major musical events such as the BRIT Awards for which the Brand has been an official partner since 2008. The Swiss watchmaker has also been multiplying its partnerships with other very successful and glamorous partners like the Classic BRIT Awards, TV program Live from the Artists Den and charities of the like of Nordoff Robbins and VH1 Save The Music Foundation. More recently, the Brand has teamed up with very promising artists like 2Cellos, Milos Karadaglic and Labrinth for the creation of 3 limited edition watches. All of RAYMOND WEIL’s love for music through partnerships and events is now gathered in its Music Box which other music lovers can join to win tickets for major shows and musical events around the world.
Founded in 1976 in Geneva by Mr Raymond Weil at a time when the watchmaking industry was in turmoil, the company named after its creator enjoyed immediate rapid expansion, growing its way into the circle of successful Swiss watchmakers. The watch collections developed in the early years became major successes with both men and women timepieces offering original designs and contributing to the shaping of the Brand’s identity as one highly inspired by and passionate about music.
The idea of a family company dear to Mr Weil took shape in 1992 when his son in law, Olivier Bernheim, and later his grandson Elie Bernheim became CEO. Over the years, the luxury Swiss watchmaker gradually improved its watchmaking know-how – notably thanks to the creation of its in-house research and development department. Watches became more sophisticated, refined and were equipped with automatic movements and adorned with diamonds and gold. Chronographs, moon phase functions and even in-house innovations like the two-time zone and patented interchangeable bracelet systems further established the success and legitimacy of the Brand. Bearing these innovations, new very popular watch collections were launched in the 2000s to immediate critical acclaim: Parsifal, Tango, Saxo and Don Giovanni Cosi Grande to name a few.
Independence is a State of Mind, the slogan adopted by the Brand in 2006 resonated like a motto and reaffirmed the Swiss watchmaker in its independence, setting it apart from large international groups. The family heritage was carried on that same year when Mr Weil’s two grandsons – Elie and Pierre Bernheim - arrived in the company. New iconic watch collections - Freelancer, Nabucco, Maestro, Jasmine, Noemia - were designed under the auspices of this 3rd generation, introducing designs intended for younger watch aficionados without compromising on the legendary Swiss made quality. In 2013, values of reliability and craftsmanship dear to the luxury watchmaker were portrayed in the Precision is my Inspiration advertising campaign, also drawing a parallel between the composition of music and the making of watches.
Always keeping its strong will of remaining an independent family-owned company, RAYMOND WEIL has developed an important international distribution network. The company created several subsidiaries in the United States, the United Kingdom, Austria and India, thus strengthening its presence on markets where the Brand is already extremely successful. The Swiss watchmaker also has several exclusive boutiques around the world. Its network has grown rapidly to more than 3’000 points of sale and keeps expending worldwide.
